Do you want to be part of one of the world’s greatest street spectaculars? Then read on……
London’s New Year’s Day Parade, LNYDP, is harnessing the passion, energy and enthusiasm of Londoners, who are proud of their city and love the volunteering tradition.
We are looking for that special someone who will provide an added sparkle on January 1st and help showcase London and the talents of its diverse population to the world. By becoming a LNYDP Parade Maker you will gain experience working in one of London's largest events, taking centre stage along with acts from all around the globe.
650,000 spectators will line the historic streets of the City of Westminster on the first day of the new year to thrill to the excitement of the spectacular parade. LNYDP can be viewed live around the world by over 600 million TV viewers. The parade is already one of the biggest of its kind anywhere on earth and we plan for January the 1st 2019 to be even bigger and better than ever before.
Preparations for LNYDP 2019 are well underway. The theme of this year’s parade is ‘London Welcomes the World’. So, come join us and experience the melting pot of cultures that make our city so great.
Your task as a Parade Maker at LNYDP 2019 will include overseeing and helping our grandstand ticket holders, helping our 8,000 international performers throughout the day and being a brilliant information source for our more than half a million spectators.
Your commitments. you must be available to spend 2 days as part of our team. Firstly attend a briefing on Saturday 30th December for three hours and then the Parade Day itself, January 1st 2019 from 8:30am - 4:30am. You must be able to attend on both days. If you can’t make the briefing you can’t take part on January 1st. So if you have any doubts about either date it probably best you don’t apply this year.
You will receive:
- The Parade Maker Uniform – waterproof Parade jacket with LNYDP insignia, a warm comfortable and stylish ‘beanie’ hat with LNYDP logo, and a rain poncho – just in case.
- An Oyster Card - to cover your travel expenses to the briefing meeting and Parade Day
- Meal vouchers for Parade Day
- An invitation to the VIP Reception on 4th January, 2019, in celebration of your hard work and achievement
- The Parade Maker Medal presented to you by the Lord Mayor at the January 4th VIP reception
We really hope that you want to be a part of our great event. So first things first. To set the ball rolling you need to complete our application form – you’ll find it on the next page. It’s pretty easy but if you have any question just call Poppy Wilson on 0203 275 0198 – or send her an email to firstname.lastname@example.org..
The Parade Maker application form must be completed and returned by Friday 7th September 2018.
