Earlier this week, the City of Westminster Central Hall played host to very special evening with the London Mayors Association and London’s New Year’s Day Parade, which saw 16 London Mayors’ and their boroughs, formally invited to take part in LNYDP 2018 on January 1st.
Every year, boroughs from across the capital, participate in the LNYDP Borough Competition. Each entry produces a performance based on the current theme and in 2018 we are excited to be celebrating all things SHOWTIME! A series of cash prizes will be awarded, by a panel of judges, to the 10 best borough entries that best depict our theme.
Bob Bone, parade Executive Director, told the gathering about the “massive boost participation can make to their mayoral charities.” The parade will be broadcast live around the world on January 1st and this will provide a fantastic opportunity for each London Borough to shine.
Many who attended the gathering of The London Mayors’ Association, hosted by the Lord Mayor of Westminster (and supported by LNYDP), were quick to sign up for the turn of year tradition. Mayor’s from Haringey, Westminster, Redbridge, Camden, Croydon, Hackney, Enfield, Brent, Kingston, Lewisham, Southwark, Sutton and many more were in attendance on Tuesday evening.
We look forward to welcoming each London Borough to LNYDP 2018.
